Am I a loser if......
...I wear the FREE event t-shirt I got TO the event?
I ask only because I picked up my race kit for the Sporting Life 10k today --- and I really like the shirt! It's blue, and a size small (which DEFINATELY helps my high opinion of that! I like fitting into a small!). Basically the story is that until now I've been running in long sleeves. I have 3 technical running shirts (well 4 now!), 2 of them are long-sleeved, and 1 is short-sleeved - but was ALSO my free shirt for signing up for the Running Room clinic and is pretty bright green....
Anyhoo -- the race kit is exciting me! I'm bib #2885 -- and I got my timing chip and EVERYTHING........ how freakin' awesome is that?
That's all -- I didn't work out today. Although I DID wear heels to work and managed to blister my poor baby toes pretty good (not AT work, but after when I had to do the hike to sporting life for my race kit) - I"m hoping they heal quickly, or at least before Sunday.
Am considering bringing my shoes and running gear to the office tomorrow to run on my lunch-break...... not sure though, we'll see. Either way would like to get in about 5k tomorrow.

Amanda!
I don't think it's loser to wear the t-shirt they give you!!! I will also pick-up my 1st running kit tomorrow and if I like the t-on Sunday :O)
One question: you are running on Saturday? Is it better to take a break or go for a light run??? I'm doing my running program at home so I don't really know what the "procedure" is before a run! Thanks =)

Hey Sonia :)
Yeah -- I'm going to wear the shirt --- unless I find something great on sale while I'm working at Running Room tomorrow :D
I won't be running Saturday - I need that break and don't want to risk it. I ran Wednesday, and I'm doing some higher-intensity cross training today, but that's it before the race.
Honestly -- I've been taking my cues from the training programs -- they all seem to slow down a bit before the races.
Me -- I cut out one of my runs, and I'm substituting in some cross-training just so I don't go soft :)
Which race are you doing Sunday anyways?

Hey there!
Good to know, I won't go for a run tomorrow then =)
I'm doing a 5K run on Sunday for the Cardiac Wellness Centre here in Windsor (Essex actually). It is organised by the Running Factory.
If I like this type of event, I will participate in a 10K run in June! I guess we'll see, I just like to run and I find that participating in events like that pushes you harder :O)
Good luck on Sunday and we'll keep in touch!!
I really like your blog by the way!! And I wanted to know why it's called 2-2-21-point-1 ????????

They want you to wear it. It's fashionable enough, so why not?
And on running before a race, most programs call for a 'taper' of a few days in which you rest up, load up on carbs so you have all the energy you'll need to run a good race. As they all say, you can't get any more fit in two days, so might as well rest up and have a fun run.
